Quotes
Education
- “Education is what remains after one has forgotten everything he learned in school. “
- Albert Einstein (1879-1955)
- “I have never let my schooling interfere with my education.”
– Mark Twain
- “I am beginning to suspect all elaborate and special systems of education. They seem to me to be built up on the supposition that every child is a kind of idiot who must be taught to think.”
– Anne Sullivan
I like this one – how do you teach a person to think? If children were thinking initially what form did it take? But then, what kind of education would Sullivan have believed in? A one-to-one education in which the child is given the best of attention and guided in her initial form of thought? Ideal, but that is really not applicable in real life.
